Risk Assessment

You are responsible to organising your own travel insurance that covers helicopter evacuation up to 6ooom.

In Nepal we work with a local trekking guide.

In the UK I am the Mountain Leader providing an educational program on nature and wellbeing. I carry out an on going risk assessment based on the ability of the group and the weather conditions. I have walked the route many times before but also have skills of navigation and night navigation.

Adventurous activities by definition carry an element of uncertainty. There is always the possibility that the endeavour will not be successful, or that in exceptional circumstances a participant may be injured.

I provide a kit list to participants of essentials and reserve the right to not take someone out on the day if they do not have the right equipment and i deem that would be a risk to themselves and the group.

Altitude

In Nepal, you will need altitude pills Diamox or an equivalent to help with acclimatisation. It is possible to buy an equivalent out in Kathmandu prior to the trek beginning. We approach the altitude steadily to allow for the body’s natural acclimatisation but talking altitude pills is recommended.
